Week 3 Home Learning
Below you will find home learning for Week 3. Please remember to use the resources and websites that can be found on Swans Week 1 page. I hope I have made the activities clear (I have added additional information below, to the summer term letter and on some slides). Please contact me via Class Dojo if there are any concerns/queries.
Reading books are available through the eBook Library on the Oxford Owl website.

PLEASE NOTE, Black Beauty will be the reading book used over the next three weeks.
This weeks English activities can be found on the 'Literacy Week 3' tab. I have outlined activities over a 5 day period - however, please amend this to suit your home learning timetable. By the end of the week, children should have worked towards creating a newspaper report based on the Literacy Shed video.
These activities will be very similar to those the children complete at school. Before completing the activities listed on the slides, the children may find it beneficial to use other websites/resources listed to research the concept (e.g. expanded noun phrases, relative clauses etc.). Year 6 also have a copy of the CGP revision book to refer to. Children should then work through the slides (answers are given after each question).
This weeks Maths activities can be found on the 'Maths Week 3' tab. Included are 5 day's worth of lessons with independent learning activities. The slides follow the same format used at school, with additional answer slides included after each question. I have used the same independent activity format that is used at school - green, orange and red (with red being the most challenging). Children may choose to work through the questions for one colour challenge, or to deepen their understanding, may choose to solve all questions for each colour challenge. The independent activities for each day will be listed separately (e.g. Maths Challenges Day 1). If children feel confident with the learning objective, they may choose to only complete the starter activity, independent learning activities and plenary - this is to the child's discretion. If they would like a further extension challenge, children can have a look at some NRICH activities (I will add a link to appropriate activities).
These will continue to be uploaded each week.
Every 2 weeks there will be extra maths activities set by Miss Angell for KS1 & KS2 to access and complete. These activities will include a range of different mathematical areas. Have a go at completing a couple each week and have fun!
The project menu will now be adapted from my planning for the summer term. Each week will consist of similar activities to those children would have been completing if at school.
