Week 11 - English

Creative Writing - Writing this week is based on Night Shimmy by Gwen Strauss.

Reading - Exploring the Deep continues to be our reading book for the next couple of weeks. You will read specific pages and answer the accompanying questions.

Grammar - Standard English.

Spellings - Year 4 and Year 5 spellings are below. You should practise spellings by writing them out and then using them in creative sentences. Use the following website to help with the learning and pronunciation of words: www.spellzone.com

Handwriting - Continue with the fluency and speed handwriting pack (on Week 9 home learning page). Please refer carefully to the handwriting style used and look at the Benwick cursive alphabet model (also on Week 9 home learning page). I have attached a file with handwriting paper which can be printed off at home. Alternatively, we can provide you with handwriting books/paper packs. These can be collected from the school office.

Week 11 - Topic

You will no longer have a topic grid to choose activities from. Instead, there will be a main topic focus each week. This week you will be looking at science - Save our Habitats. I have provided a number of lessons for you to complete. Some will just involve reading, others will include activities too.

Music - Continue to complete the YUMU activities.

PE - I have included two activities for you which are based on Move to the Beat. Both activities are accompanied by a video. Please click on the links below.

PSHE - You will be thinking about somebody who you admire and the reasons why. In addition to this, you will be thinking about what you would like to do when you are older, and the goals you can set to help achieve your ambition.
TOPIC

PSHE - Wellbeing
Keeping active is one of the 5 ways to wellbeing. The more active your are, outside if possible, the better you will feel.
Keep a simple daily dairy, in your exercise book, tracking your exercise and how you felt before and afterwards. e.g.

Monday - 10 minutes on the trampoline - before: I felt tired and grumpy after: I felt excited and I was laughing (and hot)

Can you find at least 5 different types of activity you can do over the week?
