Creative Writing - Writing this week is based on the book 'Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day'.
Reading - Our reading book this week is Dangerous Trainers.
Grammar - What is a preposition?
Spellings - Year 2 and Year 3 spellings are below. You should practise spellings by writing them out and then using them in creative sentences. Use the following website to help with the learning and pronunciation of words: www.spellzone.com
Handwriting - Continue with the fluency and speed handwriting pack (on Week 9 home learning page). Please refer carefully to the handwriting style used and look at the Benwick cursive alphabet model (also on Week 9 home learning page). I have attached a file with handwriting paper which can be printed off at home. Alternatively, we can provide you with handwriting books/paper packs. These can be collected from the school office.
Miss Wakefield - English Lead
Maths - Consolidation of Multiplication and Division
Remember to go on TTRockstars daily. I have recently changed it to automatic training. This means that it'll test you on all times tables and then give you the ones you need to practice.
Topic- Ingenious Inventors
PE - Athletics
This weeks PE activities are based on athletics. Again, there are different levels of the activities - do the one you feel most comfortable with.
Over the last few weeks, I'll be setting PSHE work which promotes British values. We talk a lot about British values in school and these are:
- the rule of law
- individual liberty
- mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith
PSHE - Britain
This unit is inspired by the idea that we live in a diverse, multicultural and democratic society and that this is important and brings many benefits. It aims to enable the children to identify that they should be respectful of difference. In this unit, children learn about British people, rules, the law, liberty and what living in a democracy means. They also learn about the importance of being tolerant of differences within their society.
