Robins Week 9

Week 9 - English

Reading - Our book this week is A Monster Mistake. Click on the link and answer the questions below.

Handwriting - Below is a handwriting activity for your child to complete - Read Write Inc Set 1 Letter Formation. To accompany this, I have included the Read Write Inc Handwriting Rhymes which are used in class when teaching the children letter formation. You will also find a YouTube link.
Please refer carefully to the handwriting style used and look at the Benwick cursive alphabet model too. Children can complete the activity on the printable worksheet or use the handwriting paper which can be printed off at home. Alternatively, we can provide you with handwriting books/paper packs. These can be collected from the school office.

Maths Week 9
This week we are learning about numbers and the number system. Knowing our numbers is an important key skill in our mathematical development. EYFS children need to be secure with their numbers to 20 and Year 1 children with their numbers to 100 and beyond.

Remember to continue to encourage your year 1 child to use the TT rock stars website daily to support their times tables. EYFS children can practically count items in 2's by using orally singing a some times tables songs - there are lots online to see.

PE-National Bike week 6-14th June

Cycling has been a great release for many families during the pandemic and we hope you’ll continue to enjoy cycling with the family and celebrate by taking part in the Bike Week festivities between 6-14 June. It’s your chance to celebrate all that’s great about cycling.

The latest Government rules say although we have to maintain our social distancing and be at home where we can, unlimited exercise is now permitted.

To help keep families active during this time Cambridgeshire Road Safety Officers are promoting Cycling UK’s free Bike Week resource pack with indoor and outdoor activities you can do as a family. From cooking to colouring, to bike challenges, it’s got it all.
