How to help your child at home...
READING:
2x15mins daily. Please encourage your child to read aloud and remember to look at the reading guidance on this page for ideas on how to support your child. A quiet cosy, quiet place without distractions will help with this.
MATHS:
Year 1 Daily visit to the Rockstars wesbsite https://ttrockstars.com/. Children in Year 1 should be able to count in 2's, 5's and 10's.
EYFS visit the Topmarks website and use the counting activities daily. Also count items practically with your child up to 20 regularly.
PHONICS:
Phonics can be tricky for the non-specialist! The Read Write Inc daily lessons are fantastic, so please do watch these with your child and encourage them to join in saying the sounds, words and phrases.

Year 1 should watch the daily Set 3
You can watch live, or each lesson is available for 24 hours!
SPELLINGS:
Year 1 please see the spelling sheet to practice on Doves page. Daily practice will support your child.
CREATIVE WRITING:
One creative writing piece created over the week. The challenge will be listed on this page each week. You can upload your child's writing to our class dojo page to share with Mrs Palmer and Miss Stone.
DAILY CALCULATIONS:
Daily maths challenges that your child will be able to achieve. Please check their answers, use practical items for them to count and have a 1-20 numberline or 100 square for them to use to support their calculations. If your child goes wrong talk to them about where they went wrong.
PROJECT WORK:
Each afternoon undertake one of the recommended projects from the weekly Topic plan.
DAILY HOME ACTIVITIES:
Remember during these trying times daily activities with your child are all learning opportunities. Cooking, gardening, playing and spending quality time talking with your child are all special and precious opportunities to support your child and their development.
