Mr Darren Gore

Chair of Governors & Named Governor for Health & Safety & Maths

I have been a resident of Benwick for the past 18 years and have had children in Benwick Primary School for the last 12 years, I currently have 2 children attending Benwick Primary School.

I work in the public sector and have done so for the past 9 years, most recently in a supervisory position. My job has provided me with training and experience dealing with safeguarding of vulnerable people including children, as well as dealing with children and adults when they are at their most vulnerable.
I have been a governor at Benwick since 2011 with a break between September 2017 and 2018, I am currently Chair to the governing body and have 6 years’ experience in that position.

I have always had Benwick Primary’s best intentions at heart as well as the progress and happiness of the children and will continue to do so.

You can contact me via my school email.

Mr Mark Goulbourne

Co-opted Governor & Named Governor for Finance, Recovery Funding & GDPR

I am a Management Accountant and currently work in Peterborough.

Mrs Janice Fiore

Staff Governor and Named Governor for English & Collective Worship

I have lived in Benwick for nearly 25 years now and enjoy the village and what it has to offer.
At home I live with my husband, my two sons and our dogs. My sons both attended Benwick Primary for their entire primary school journey and that is how I came to be involved with the school.
When my youngest was in reception I started working at the after-school club and did some volunteering hearing readers during the school day. Gradually I spent more and more time in the school and began my teaching assistant journey.
I have always worked with children, upon leaving school I worked in a Childcare setting looking after children from 6 weeks to 5 years old. I have worked in all the year groups at Benwick but especially enjoy reception and year 1.
Recently I completed a level 4 SEND ( Special Education Needs and Disability) course. I want to use this new knowledge to benefit the children of the school and hope in my new governor role I’ll be able to achieve this.
I look forward to working with the staff, governors and parents as we move forward helping all to achieve.

Mrs Clare Talbot

I have been teaching for 25 Years and have been lucky enough to work in several different counties, in all year groups, in a range of size and types of school.

I moved back to the locality with my family and took up the post of Headteacher at Benwick in January 2020, which is my second Headship. I have been part of school Senior Leadership Teams for over 12 years and have served on 4 different Governing Boards.

Mrs Mandi Papworth-Boston

Parent Governor & Named Governor for Safeguarding & SEND

I have lived in Benwick for over 14 years and have 4 children, two of which are now at secondary school having had all their primary education at Benwick Primary School, and the other two are currently in years 5 and 3. During this time I have seen first hand, over a number of years, the changes and challenges of how the school operates, the quality of education provided and the communication channels forged between staff and parents.

The main reason for wanting to take on this very challenging role is to have an input into children’s education, which is ever evolving. I want to be actively involved within mine, and other childrens, school life to have a better understanding of changes that are being made within their education.

I held the position of Parent Governor for nearly 4 years in the recent past, including the role of Chair of Governors, at Benwick Primary School. I feel I have a great understand of what is expected within the role, the time and undertaking required and believe I have the skills and commitment to assist an already developed governing body.

My career background is varied covering roles from retail, HR, and public sector roles and I am currently working within the education environment. The knowledge I have gained throughout my career and my pragmatic approach to situations will help me to both support the school and provide challenge, where necessary, whilst enabling me to enter discussions from a different angle and question the reasoning behind the decisions of the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team.

I believe that every single child deserves the best education possible which can be achieved through the schools already hardworking, dedicated and enthusiastic staff, whose focus is to maintain and progress the high standards of achievement, enjoyment and fulfilment for both current and future pupils of the school in a safe and happy environment. I have always enjoyed being part of the school community and also take an active role within the FOBS committee.

Mr Mark Chapman

Local Authority Governor & Named Governor for Website compliance

I have been a resident of Benwick for
over 2 decades and have also been a Parish Councilor for over 10 years - the
last 5 years I have been the Chairman. Currently I am also the Chairmen of Turf Fen Charity.

After leaving school I served in the Royal Air Force for over 25 years in various locations at home and overseas and retired in 2002, at the rank of Squadron Leader. Until retiring completely last year I spent
my intervening years with a variety of firms as a Programme Manager.

Mrs Susan Patchett

Parent Governor & Named Governor for EYFS & Safeguarding

I have been a resident of Benwick village for 10 years and have three children who all attend Benwick Primary school.

My interest in becoming a parent governor is so that I can play an active and supportive role with the school and it's staff to help it continue to deliver it's high standard of education and support to all children. It is important to me that every child is given the opportunity to get the best start in their education.

I am currently a stay at home mum. However, as well as this I can draw on my professional experience gained working within travel customer services, food retail management and finance portfolio management to communicate and deal with all levels of professionals and to speak up when needed to ensure a fair and positive outcome.

I look forward to working along side school staff, governors and parents to help the school continue to move forward.

Mrs Danielle Peacock

Parent Governor & Named Governor for Governor Training

My Husband and I have been living just outside Benwick since 2014. We have three children and our eldest two attend Benwick Primary School. In my time as a Benwick parent, I have already been very impressed by the ethos of the school and the emphasis on building a supportive environment to ensure an excellent and rounded education for all children.

When my children were born, I took the decision to become a fulltime parent and support them though their early years. Raising them gave me first-hand experience of just how powerful a parent is as an educational support. I joined FOBS as a way of helping support the school and this has helped me to meet other parents.

I have recently returned to my previous employer working on a migration project into a new IT platform. I have keen attention to detail and a strong drive to see a project through to completion. My role also involves developing new process and governance to ensure an effective outcome for all users. I spend a lot of time in my kitchen cooking, and I love to entertain family and friends.

Having been part of the school community, I would be delighted to be to be given the opportunity to help contribute to the success of the school and to offer development opportunities for our young people to enhance their skills, experiences and attributes to take forward in life.
